Why BEZ Basketball

B-EZ Basketball provides specialized basketball training for youth ages 9-15 at Canlan Libertyville, led by Head Coach Besar Mahmudi, a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in organized basketball from Parsippany, NJ. Inspired by his son and passion for the game, Coach Besar is passionate about helping young athletes grow both on and off the court.

With an impressive track record, Coach Besar led Highland Park's 3rd-grade travel team to their first championship in 12 years and secured a summer league tournament victory with All-In. In his second season with Highland Park, he guided the 6th-grade travel team to its best record in 18 years, dominating tournaments and defeating teams that had previously challenged the A-Team.

His coaching philosophy combines a strong foundation of basketball fundamentals with strategic skill-building, informed by a playbook of drills and exercises inspired by his own mentors. As a licensed USA Basketball Youth Development coach, he tailors over 150 proven drills and plays to meet the unique needs of each player and team.

At B-EZ Basketball, Coach Besar’s mission is to develop not only winning teams but well-rounded athletes. His focus on teamwork, discipline, and strategic game planning—paired with a commitment to individual growth—makes him a valuable asset to any player or program looking to achieve success on the court.
